The brief

Where they were stuck.

The Arabic accounting software landscape is a false dichotomy. Enterprise platforms like SAP and Oracle cost hundreds of thousands, take six to twelve months to implement, and treat Arabic as a localization layer — forms break, reports flip incorrectly, text alignment is fragile. Basic bookkeeping tools solve simple cases but fall apart the moment a business opens a second entity or needs serious reporting. Meanwhile, Gulf businesses are scaling fast and need structured finance operations that don't feel like a compromise.

Our read

How we approached it.

We studied Odoo's accounting architecture — widely considered the most complete open-source financial stack — and rebuilt the essentials with Arabic as a first-class citizen. Forms read naturally in Arabic, not translated literally. Error messages use correct financial terminology in Arabic (قيد غير متوازن, not تخطئة). The data model is multi-company from schema design: one login, unlimited company contexts, instant switching with isolated books and permissions. Reports include drill-through: tap a P&L line, see the trial balance, tap a journal, see the source document. PDF generation uses custom jsPDF logic to render right-to-left financial tables correctly — something standard libraries break on.

Visual system

Foundations of the brand.

A focused palette and a typographic pair that the storefront, the product page, and the admin dashboard all draw from — so the system reads as one voice across every screen.

Outcome

What changed.

Meezan ships with multi-currency, multi-company, and full double-entry accounting from version 1 — not a phased rollout. Early users migrated entire fiscal-year transactions in under a day using the import tooling. The Arabic-first approach means zero translation friction — operations teams read the interface without mentally translating.
